Google has ambitious plans to expand its cloud gaming service everywhere in the world but, as of May 2021, Stadia is only available in some countries. Here is the list of countries where Google Stadia is available (in alphabetical order)…

If you are not based in one of such countries, you won’t be able to sign up to the Google Stadia service, nor place orders in the Google Stadia store.
Note that if you are based in a supported country but you travel to a different country you might not be able to play the games you purchased, or you could see differences in the content of the games.

Yes, you could use a VPN service to tunnel your internet connection to a supported country before connecting to the Stadia servers, but the experience will not be as good as directly connecting to the Stadia servers because some lag will be added to the connection.
It’s important to remark that when there is a lot of lag the gaming experience degrades because the game doesn’t react so quickly to your controller movements. Some games like racing games or first person shooters are more sensitive to lag, so it is not a good idea to play these using a VPN, but it’s still fine to play other genres like platformer games or puzzle games.
If you plan to use a VPN to play Stadia, before purchasing any game we recommend you to try some of the free games, and test the lag and the gaming experience so there are no surprises.
